By simply venting your woes to a therapist, you may be able to establish some peace of mind.
While you are going through these tough times, it is important to still maintain a consistent and balanced diet. Sudden fluctuations in eating habits can cause you to lose or gain weight very quickly. This obviously leads to a change in your body as a whole, and your hair may fall out because of that. If you find that you cannot eat as you used to, at least try to take vitamins to make up for the nutrients you are lacking. This may act as a way to fool your hair into thinking everything is fine. It will grow normally after that.
Even though stressful times are often considered to be “hair-pullers”, the actual art of pulling your hair is only going to make matters worse. Instead of attacking your tangles with a vendetta, you should slowly work them out until they are gone. Try not to brush too much as it will cause hair to fall out. Also, try shampooing your hair as it is lying down. Don’t cycle it around into a big ball atop your head. That will only lead to more tangles down the road.
If your hair loss persists, contact your doctor about underlying health risks that may be developing. Your physician will know if your issues are stress induced or if there is more to them than that. He or she may be able to prescribe treatment options that will help your hair get back to normal until the rest of your life does. Try to get over your stress as soon as possible so the hair loss doesn’t persist. In time, you should be able to get your hair back to its original state.
